This is a favorite baby girl quilt.  I wish I could invent time as I could make them and have on the shelf! 

It requires applique and blanket stitching.  It is a bit time consuming. 

Donation Quilts

When my friend, Debbie, told me that her church is collecting baby quilts for a hospital in Haiti.  I made 12 from donated fabric and flannel that has been sitting on shelf for way too long.  There is a lot of variety among these small quilts for newborns.  

Book Pillows for Christmas Supply Drive 2024

Never underestimate the power of a group.  About 7 women, 3 kids and 1 man filled 33 pocket pillows with stuffing and stitched them closed.  We added books and decided we needed several more pillows.  In all we will be able to donate about 50 books with pillows to kids this Christmas!! 

Table Topper?

This is a small quilt.  It is actually a good size for a table topper or a wheelchair lap quilt.  I think is screams spring. 

A gift for pastor

Our minister is moving back to Oklahoma and that certainly is a reason for a quilt! 

Binding Completes the Quilt

How often have I completed a quilt top to let it sit?  

Once quilting, how long before it gets bound? 

Years ago I bought a Pfaff 1471 sewing machine and had it serviced. I knew it was special and even though it was from the 1980's, there is a loyal following of people who adore these machines. 

It makes binding a snap.  Easy peasy! 

Well this week I finally finished my version of a quilt called "Independence".  I had made it before and gifted to my daughter in law, Holly.  

This time, the blocks were damaged by a basement flooding incident.  There is color bleed from red fabric but it was some measure of work and I decided to quilt it and bind it and now I'll wash it to see what will come out.  This quilt is about 65" square.  It is another of my scrappy quilts. They grow, they multiple!  But they can be quite unusual as well.  Inspiation from designer Jen Kingwell quilt. 

Aunt Duck Quilt

My Toastmaster friend, Dana, asked me to make a Quilt for a great nephew.  It took me way too long but it finally got mailed.  Apparently, her nephew called her Duck when he was small.  Hence, when I made the new baby quilt, it was from Aunt Duck.  I like to called the quilt, ducky.

Dressed To The Nines

I have made this baby quilt many times in many colors and i always believe it is spectacular.  I embellish with lace and rickrack and girly stuff.  

The squares are 10" and the dresses are appliqued.  Sashing and borders add to the size and it is always lovely.
