Three Yard Quilts in Progress

I own several of Donna Robertson's "Three Yard Quilt Books".  They are quick and easy and if you need a gift in a hurry, these quilts are just the right option.  While these quilts have been finished and went to their forever home, I have kept several for myself.

Donna's designs are easy, and her books are super easy to understand.  I often add additional borders to the quilts to increase the size.  You start with 3 one-yard cuts of fabric and will need additional fabric for the back and I like a double fold vs. economy binding.  I find the double fold binding to be sturdy and longer lasting.

The first quilt is called "Checkerboard" and I used a large-scale print that would be lost if I had cut it into smaller pieces.  This is one of my favorite patterns as it really allows me to showcase the big prints.
